Under the Big Top

The girls went with their cousins, aunts, uncles, Nana, and Papa to the Shriners' circus last night.  Surprise, surprise Graham was sick again.  This is in keeping with his theme of being sick during special events and holidays. So Dax, Graham, and I stayed home yesterday. They had a lot of fun. Reese had her face painted like a "kitty cat." Ok, if you look at the pictures it is really a butterfly, but she insisted it was a kitty cat.  Go figure. Reagan decided she wanted to ride the elephant instead. I think the circus toys get more annoying every year. Usually, the toys are just spinning balls of light that break in two days. This year they went the extra mile and added the most annoying, repeating music to them. It is awesome when all three of them get going at once. I think the batteries are going to run down pretty soon...like tonight.  Here are a few pictures. You can see more pictures in the Photos section of the site.

Why is She Sleeping on Her Dresser?

Reese is a character. She never ceases to amaze us with the things she comes up with. This picture is a little old and I have finally gotten around to posting it. She was supposed to be taking a nap one afternoon, and this is how Tracy found her. Reese was asleep on her dresser.  Why was she asleep on her dresser? She had pooped in her diaper and didn't want to lay in it! This was around the time we were potty training her, and we weren't having much luck. I guess this is where we finally reached a turning point.  Tracy couldn't pass up taking the picture of her, and I just had to share it with everyone. Hey, it's not every day you find your daughter sleeping on her dresser because she pooped her pants!

It's been awhile, but it seems like i'm always saying it. Dax is starting to get huge! He wants to eat all the time. Now, if he would only sleep through the night! He still wants to get up every three hours to eat. You'd think we were starving the kid. I don't have any offical stats. It's been a long time since he has been to the doctor.  I'll let everyone know when we get some numbers on him.

Valentine's Day has come and gone. Graham was sick so Tracy and I didn't get to do anything. It seems like he is sick on every holiday or special day. He was sick on Valentine's Day, Christmas, and his birthday. We got a cookie bouquet from Nanna Sue.This year's bouquet was a little different. There were cookies with the kid's names on them. They thought they were really special.

Two Weeks In and More Pictures
Written by Brian

Dax in the floorDax is already two weeks old! It's amazing how fast time flies when you have four kids to take care of.  Tracy took Dax (and all the other kids) to the doctor this week.  He was the only one that came home without some sort of prescription!  He has already put on some weight and he should since he eats better than any of the other three ever ate!  8 lbs. 5 oz is what he weighed at the doctor this week!

We also had our first adventure with all six of us going out to eat at a restaurant.  The good thing is it wasn't McDonalds.  Rib Crib is one of the places we like to go.  Not because the food is the best in the world, but all five of us (the only ones eating) can eat there for under $30!  We apparently did pretty well and even managed to get a couple complements on how well our kids behaved!

I added some more pictures to the Photos section of the site.

Baby Dax Has Arrived!
Written by Brian

We had a late Christmas gift this year. Dax was born on 12/27/2008! He was 7lbs. 13oz. and 20 and 3/4 inches long. The circumstances around his birth were a little interesting. If you've known us very long you'd just think this is the norm.  There were interesting circumstances around all four of our kids' births. At least things weren't as strange as they were with the other kids.

We had a c-section scheduled for the 23rd, but the amnio on Monday said he wasn't ready.  So we scheduled the c-section for the 31st to give his lungs some time to mature. Tracy woke up on the 27th and was feeling a little strange and her stomach was hard.  As many of you know, this can be a symptom of a ruptured uterus, except she wasn't having excruciating pain. The doctor recommended she come in to the hospital since he was on call anyway. Off she went to the hospital (St. John's), with Graham tagging along (This wasn't the first time she went to the hospital this pregnancy, so we didn't think much of it.).  I took the girls to Target, in Owasso, to do some shopping.

Well, while waiting in line at the service desk at Target I get a call from Tracy.  She tells me to drop what I'm doing and head to the hospital. Dax is coming out! At least I got my return done before having to leave! It turns out her uterus had thinned out to 1.5mm from 3mm a couple of weeks prior. There was concern about a uterus rupture the entire pregnancy. This came from the discovery, during the third c-section, of her uterus being extremely thin. So the whirlwind began.

Everything turned out fine. Both Tracy and Dax are doing great!  We brought Dax home the following Tuesday and Reagan can't put him down.  She is totally the mothering type!  Graham and Reese were pretty interested in him at first, but they are slowly losing interest in him.

I have uploaded some picture in the photos section of the site.
